Volunteer Opportunities PDF Print E-mail

Our program is richer because of you! Each year, our volunteer needs change as boys graduate to the Troop and families experience schedule changes. In order for our program to continue to be a great source of opportunity for all boys, year in and year out, we depend on parents and caregivers to assist in filling these needs. Whether you give 2 or 50 hours of your time, every bit is appreciated!

Please check this list periodically for your chance to help out. We expect that every scout parent or caregiver will help in the ways they are most comfortable with, volunteering for one event or activity per scout year, at a minimum. If you have two or more cubs, please consider volunteering for a fair number of events/ activities (1 per scout).

If you are experiencing difficulties in finding ways to help out, please contact your scout's Den Leader, Cubmaster Jim LaLonde, or our volunteer committee.

Popcorn Show and Sells

Our Popcorn fundraiser swings into action on September 30th!

During several weekends in October & November, our pack will be participating in Show & Sells where we will sell popcorn in front of various businesses (ie, Harris Teeter, Lowes, etc) to customers as they enter and leave the stores.  You can now sign-up for a 2 hour shift at the various locations at the following link:  Click here for Show and Sell sign ups!

Mystery House: Finding the mystery house this year will award the scout a chilling prize! See if your scout can find the house "in a neighborhood with Park in its name on Mallard Creek Rd".

Please contact your den leader or your den's Popcorn Rep if you have any questions.

Fall Campout 2016

Who's ready to camp???

Bring the family as we join Troop 97 from Friday, October 21, 2016 to Sunday, October 23, 2016 for our annual Fall campout.  The troop is busy preparing activities for all our cubs, and this will definitely be an event you won't want to miss!

We will be at Woodfield West Scout Preserve this year.  It's approximately a 75 minute drive from St. Mark Catholic Church.  The closest address (for GPS) is 956 Rush Mountain Road, Trinity, NC 27370.

Directions: Take Interstate 85 North (toward Greensboro) to Exit 96 for US-64 East toward Lexington/Asheboro.  In 12.2 miles turn right onto Rush Mountain Road Exd.  The camp is in 0.7 miles on the left.

Please let us know if you will attend on our registration page.  Cost is $18 for adults and siblings (scouts and leaders are included).
Never camped?  Don't worry!  We'll have an informational session prior to the campout, and feel free to ask a leader any questions you may have.  We'll see you there!
