SuperTrip - 2013

June 1st-2nd

140 Lost Sea Rd.
Sweetwater, TN 37874

Pack 97's annual SuperTrip will be to the Lost Sea Adventure in Sweetwater, TN. We will arrive Saturday afternoon, June 1st and spend the night in the cave! Returning home Sunday, June 2nd.

We will enjoy a guided tour of the cave, a trip across the Lost Sea on a glass bottom boat and time to spend in Old Sweetwater Village.

Cost is $40 per person. Saturday night supper and Sunday morning breakfast will be provided

We will be entering the cave at 5:00pm. Please plan to arrive no later than 4:30pm so that we can get everyone ready to head underground. If you are able to arrive earlier in the day, there will be an opportunity to participate in a short nature hike (hiking miles!) and pan for gem stones (there is a small fee for this optional activity). If the weather is good, we will also have the kickballs, etc to entertain the scouts and hopefully wear them out a little bit after the long car ride to TN.

Note that we will be sleeping in the cave. It will be muddy. Please do not bring your best equipment. Bring older, washable clothing and sleeping gear. Also bring a tarp or large trash bag that you can place on the ground between you and the mud.

More information about the Lost Sea Adventure as well as directions and maps can be found at http://www.thelostsea.com/.

Registration is now closed.

Pack 97 Hiking Program

The hiking program runs year round and consists of monthly hikes at interesting locations around the Charlotte area.

Most hikes are within an hour's drive although sometimes we venture farther afield and are about 2 to 4 miles long. They are appropriate for all ranks from Tiger to Webelos. All scouts, families and siblings of Pack 97 are welcome to participate.

Click here for complete details on the hiking program including a list of the medallions that awarded.

Pack 97 Recycling Program
As part of our commitment to the principles of Leave No Trace, Pack 97 has brought back the recycling program for its second year.
  • We are recycling light bulbs (dark suckers), batteries (dark storage units) and electronic components and computers
  • Bins will be at each Pack meeting and Den meeting to drop off items
  • Scouts should write their name on the Recycle log along with the weight of the items dropped off (we will try to have the scale at meetings)
  • Goal is 100% participation and over 750 lbs!

Check out our progress!
